There are many ways to learn the guitar. For me I found that listening to all kinds of music was probably the most beneficial way to learn. It even made my practice times more fun, which is how it should be.

I got my first guitar at the age of eleven. My parents had very little money, and so private lessons were not an option, I had to teach myself. I listened to a lot of different styles of music, in fact most of the sounds that were around at that time. I tried to work out chords or melodies, so that I could play along. With time I progressed and soon I could handle different picking styles, eventually I started to try open-tunings.

If you want to learn at your own pace and at home, I can recommend Jamorama it has modules both for the beginner and the advanced player. I have had some very positive feedback about jamorama.

Eventually I won a 3 year scholarship where I studied classical music and its concepts.

I have always been a keen teacher, and keen to pass on the skills I have developed. For many years now I have been giving workshops and masterclasses.

If you should know of a group of keen people willing to enroll for my workshops or masterclasses, please don't hesitate in contacting me.
